BITS 2.0 Refresher Training Description

This BITS 2.0 refresher training is designed to help clinicians deepen their understanding of key programs and how to effectively tailor them to meet the needs of patients with varying cognitive, visual, and motor impairments. Participants will learn how to adjust and progress activities based on clinical goals and patient performance, while building confidence in selecting the right interventions. Through real-world, case-based examples, the speaker will demonstrate how BITS can be seamlessly integrated into clinical practice across occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language pathology—highlighting practical strategies to enhance engagement, support functional outcomes, and maximize the value of the system in everyday treatment sessions.

Bridget Mathis, OTR, is an occupational therapist with a background in adult neurological rehabilitation, where she worked closely with individuals recovering from stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other neurological conditions. She’s passionate about helping patients regain independence and confidence in their daily lives through practical, functional care. She has since transitioned into clinical education, where she enjoys working with therapists to make technology feel approachable and easy to use in everyday practice. Bridget brings a real-world clinical perspective to her trainings, focusing on simple, effective strategies that translate directly to better patient outcomes.
